Benefits of becoming a Barber
Benefits of becoming a Barber are many.
I’ll try to explain the few things I believe in detail below.
The main benefit of becoming a Barber is having control of your life.
Once you learn the basics of Barbering, nothing can stop you. There is nothing you can’t do.
You can:
Quit your job tomorrow.
Manage your working hours.
Create multiple streams of income.
Never “request” another holiday again.
Travel the world and get hired in any country.
Open a shop and become your own boss.
The benefits of becoming a Barber go way beyond that list, though.
Here are a few more in-depth.
The next one isn’t something you think of off the top of your head, but it’s one of the greatest benefits of becoming a Barber that I know.
Here it is:
You get to make other people feel good about themselves.
Making other people feel good feels good.
I can’t describe it in words, but there’s something about knowing that you’ve made someone look and feel confident when they leave your chair with a newfound zest for life because you gave them a haircut.
Another one.
Your increased popularity.
Another “hidden” benefit of becoming a Barber is that your population within your friend group skyrockets. You’re the one in charge of how everyone looks. You’re the go-to person in your friend group that everyone seeks advice from.
Another one.
Future-proof yourself.
In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, the benefit of becoming a Barber is that your career will likely never be replaced by AI or similar technologies.
Becoming a Barber is a way to secure a stable future for yourself and your family.
As we all saw with COVID, we all deeply craved genuine human connection. A benefit of becoming a Barber is that you’ll always be in demand. You’ll always have work. You’ll never be out of pocket no matter where you are in the world.
Which brings me to yet another benefit of becoming a barber.
Travelling the world becomes effortless.
No matter where you want to go, if you’re a Barber, getting hired is probably the easiest thing you’ll experience. All it takes, and this is no joke because I’ve had many of my students do this, is send a direct message to Barbershops on Instagram before you’re heading to that country, and ask if they have any chairs for rent.
They will take a look at your Instagram profile and make a judgment on whether or not they think you’ll fit in with their shop.
Getting hired as a Barber abroad has to be one of the easiest things on the planet.
Therefore, the benefit of becoming a Barber is true freedom.
Want more?
I got more.
Anotherrrrrrrrrr benefit of becoming a Barber is you get to create with your hands on a daily basis.
Artistic expression.
Why is this important?
It’s important because it’s what we’re designed to do.
From an early age, we’re constantly playing with things. Breaking them and fixing them again. It’s how we learn. Then, when we retire, we use our hands again.
Gardening.
Painting.
Pottery.
Whatever it is, we find joy in creating with our hands again.
But, the benefit of becoming a Barber is that you get to use your hands to create
your whole life.
This is a highly valuable benefit that many people overlook.
What else have we got?
Oh yes.
Flexibility.
When I learned Barbering, I quickly realised that I could go self-employed in a matter of weeks. Which means I can work when I want. This suited my personality a lot.
I hated requesting holidays.
Asking for a day off.
Being told when to go for and when to finish my lunch.
Learning Barbering allowed me to take back control of my time very quickly.
This gets amplified when you realise the endless opportunities to make an income when you’re a Barber.
This was a huge benefit of Barbering for me.
I’m very business-oriented. I appreciate that barbering provides me with numerous opportunities to earn a living.
For instance, I was able to open my first shop within 9 months of never Barbering before.
Alongside, we started our own product range.
Then we started a Barber academy just 3 months later.
I had 3 points of income in just 12 months.
Barbering.
Products.
Education.
But there are way more, like:
Photoshoots.
Celebrities.
Brand deals.
The benefit of becoming a Barber is that you have almost endless ways to make an income, and from anywhere in the world.
